Tigers are usually solitary animals, coming together only during the breeding season. They do not have fixed dens and often roam and forage in mountain forests. They are capable of swimming. Tigers are mostly active at dusk and rest in hiding during the day, rarely venturing out unless disturbed. Their range of activity is quite large; in the north, the daily foraging range can reach tens of kilometers, while in the south, such as in Xishuangbanna where food is more abundant, their movement range is shorter.
