The Siberian tiger (scientific name: Panthera tigris ssp. altaica), also known as the Amur or Northeast China tiger, is a subspecies of tiger. It is the largest living carnivorous cat in terms of body weight. Males can reach a body length of about 2.8 meters, with a tail length of approximately 1 meter, and a maximum weight of over 350 kilograms. In the wild, the Siberian tiger's summer coat is an ochre or brownish-yellow, while its winter coat is a pale yellow. Its back and sides feature multiple transverse black narrow stripes, often appearing in pairs that form a willow-leaf shape. It has a large, round head with several black horizontal stripes on its forehead, which are often connected in the middle, strikingly resembling the Chinese character for "king". This distinctive marking has earned it the well-deserved title, "King of the Jungle."
